ROTTERDAM- AZ has lost their away game against direct opponent Feyenoord on Saturday night. After the 0-1 by Mats Seuntjens, it were goals bij Tyrell Malacia and Robin van Persie which set the final score: 2-1.
AZ scored the 0-1 in the first half. In the 36th minute striker Seuntjens made the goal with his lower back. In the second half Feyenoord was the better team. Defender Malacia made the 1-1 with a shot from outside the box. Feyenoord captain Van Persie made the decisive goal in the 68th minute.
With the loss in De Kuip AZ is now seven points behind Feyenoord and has to focus on defending the fourth place.
Despite the loss, there were also positive things for the team of John van den Brom. Attacker Myron Boadu made his return after being off for seven months with an ankle injury.
