AZ wins in LimburgPublished on 22 februari 21, 12:04
VENLO- AZ has won the away game against VVV-Venlo: 1-4. The Alkmaarders had a tough time creating chances, but managed to make the difference against 10 men from VVV. Jesper Karlsson, Håkon Evjen and Myron Boadu (2x) scored the goals. Dani de Wit returned in the squad after being injured for the last months.
Pascal Jansen made two changes to his starting eleven. Timo Letschert replaced the suspended Pantelis Hatzidiakos and Håkon Evjen played instead of Calvin Stengs, who fell ill earlier this week.
Jansen’s squad started strong and took the lead in the 15th minute, with an amazing goal from Jesper Karlsson. After that, AZ was stronger, but it was VVV that scored. Christios Donis headed home a free kick in the 25th minute. During the remainder of the first half, both sides created some chances but wouldn't score anymore.
Seal the deal
After the break, it was again AZ that took the lead, when Evjen scored his first for AZ. Shortly after that goal, VVV-player Kum was shown a straight red, which ended any hoops for a result in Limburg. Two goals from Boadu sealed the deal and earned the guests the three points.
