ALKMAAR- On Sunday AZ won over PSV: 1-0. In the AFAS Stadion Guus Til made the only goal of the game right after the break. With the win AZ has secured the fourth place which provides European football.
Prior to the match against PSV, AZ revealed their new home kit. The red jersey, with details of the city of Alkmaar, was worn by the players for the first time during the game.
After a first half without goals, AZ opened the score a few minutes after the break. Mats Seuntjens gave the asisst with his right foot on Til. The captain controlled the pass and shot the ball behind PSV goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet. The only and decisive goal.
After the goal of Til, PSV - which was still in the race for the Eredivisie-title - had some chances, but could not score. AZ won and got a hold on a European ticket.
Goodbye Van den Brom
The players walked a victory lap and after that the AFAS Stadion said goodbye to John van den Brom. He was headcoach for five seasons and more than 200 games at AZ. Next season he will be coach of FC Utrecht.
