Excelsior - AZ suspended due to thick fog

ROTTERDAM- AZs away match against Excelsior was suspended on Sunday afternoon due to thick fog. After consulting both coaches referee Kevin Blom decided to stop the match at halftime with 0-0 on the scoreboard.

Despite the mediocre visibility AZ created several good chances in the first 45 minutes. Simon Poulsen, Pontus Wernbloom and Rasmus Elm had opportunities to open the scoring. On the other side of the pitch Esteban didnt have much to do.

Replay

The Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) will decide whether the match will be replayed entirely or just the remainder. A new date will be set early this week.
