ALKMAAR- AZ have been drawn against Valencia in the quarter-finals of the Europa League. AZ recorded a 2-1 win over the Spanish giants in the first leg in Alkmaar last Thursday. The return leg will take place in Estadio Mestalla on 5 April. In the build-up to this match, AZ.nl will pay attention to the performances of Los Ches.

AZ will meet a club in crisis on Thursday, according to Spanish media. Valencia President Manuel Llorente has increased the pressure on coach Unai Emery, demanding better results at short notice. Valencia were booed off the pitch by their own fans after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Levante in the Valenciano derby on Sunday.
The Brazilian Jonas gave the home side the lead but Arouna Koné scored the equaliser after the break.

Emery´s team are now without a win in four matches. Valencia recently suffered Primera Division defeats against Real Zaragoza and Getafe and also slipped to a 2-1 defeat at AZ in Alkmaar. Emery: ”The fans expressed their discontent after the final whistle, but supported us during the match. The 1-1 draw is a bad result for us and we are not happy. It’s up to us to find solutions and turn things around.”
