ALKMAAR - Zico Buurmeester will be loaned to PEC Zwolle for the 2023-2024 season. His contract with AZ was recently extended until mid-2026. On Tuesday he will join PEC's training camp in Epe.
During the contract signing, Buurmeester and Director of Football Affairs Max Huiberts expressed their intention for the midfielder to get more playing time in the Eredivisie next season. This opportunity will now be provided in Zwolle.

Buurmeester has been with AZ since 2013. The homegrown talent has played nine matches for the senior team in Alkmaar. He has made a total of 81 appearances for Jong AZ.
