ZWOLLE- In a rainy MAC³PARK stadium, the AZ Women couldn't secure a victory against PEC Zwolle. The visitors from Alkmaar conceded a goal in the final minutes, which also turned out to be the only goal of the match: 1-0.

Interim coach Wouter de Vogel made two changes compared to the last match against Telstar Women. Ginia Caprino and Veerle van der Most were in the starting lineup. Yaël Mollink started on the bench, and Djoeke de Ridder returned to the squad after a brief injury.

Opening phase with chances
AZ Women started the game well, and the first opportunities presented themselves quickly. After five minutes of play, Maudy Stoop headed the ball just wide of PEC Zwolle's goal. Shortly after, Floor Spaan intercepted the ball in midfield and played a beautiful pass to Camie Mol, who provided a cross to Desiree van Lunteren. AZ's captain narrowly missed the goal.

Fantastic through ball
The Alkmaar team continued to show their attacking intentions. Spaan delivered a fantastic through ball through PEC's defense and found Van der Most. However, her effort was saved by the onrushing goalkeeper Tessa van der Flier.

Half-time with a tie
Before the break, both teams had one more chance each. After a quickly taken free-kick, Van Lunteren's shot ended up in the hands of the PEC goalkeeper. After over half an hour of play, the home team finally had their first real chance, but goalkeeper Femke Liefting made a good save. The first half ended goalless.

Danger from the flanks
The teams emerged unchanged from the locker rooms. AZ mainly sought to create danger from the flanks. Mol delivered another good cross, and the home team's defense was beaten, but Romaissa Boukakar couldn't quite reach it.

Chances on both sides
Fifteen minutes before the end, the game was still evenly balanced. PEC Zwolle had a few chances, but the Alkmaar defense held firm. The visitors also had a great opportunity. Spaan seemed to set up for a spectacular volley, but the high pass just went over her.

Late conceding goal
The match appeared to be heading for a goalless draw. However, in the final minutes, the home team managed to score a goal. Substitute Mayke Lindner headed the ball into the Alkmaar goal on behalf of PEC Zwolle. Shortly after, the final whistle sounded, and the match ended 1-0 in favor of the home team.
